1. How Much are Moulin Rouge Tickets?
The incredible musical, Moulin Rouge, has taken the West End by storm since it first opened in 2021 and has stuck as a fan favourite ever since. The intricate set design, dazzling costumes and brilliant performers are just part of the experience based on Baz Luhrmann’s revolutionary film. Due to its popularity, ticket prices can get expensive, especially during peak times such as weekends and bank holidays. Tickets start as low as £25 and can reach highs of over £200.
You can sometimes find tickets in seasonal promotions such as London Theatre Week and New Year’s Sales, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye out for any offers. The musical also offers Bohemian Seats for £29; these aren’t guaranteed but can be a great way to grab cheaper tickets. It’s good to bear in mind that the musical isn’t always included in discounts, especially during weekends or bank holidays.
Not sure how to find discounted tickets? No worries, we’ve put together a complete guide to making the most of your budget and getting affordable tickets below.
2. When Should I Book Tickets for Moulin Rouge?
The musical usually has good availability a few months before, however, cheaper tickets will sell out earlier. If you’d like to see the production over a weekend or bank holiday, we recommend booking at least 4 months in advance to avoid disappointment.
If you’re flexible with when you can visit the theatre, booking tickets for off-peak performances on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday can save you money. We recommend booking mid-week dates as you can save up to 27% compared to weekend prices.
As mentioned above, the musical may be included in seasonal promotions such as London Theatre Week and New Year’s Sales but it might not be possible to book far in advance with these offers.
3. How Do I Get Last Minute Moulin Rouge Tickets?
Looking for cheap last-minute tickets? If you’re in London, we recommend heading to the TKTS booth in Leicester Square or to the box office directly. Piccadilly Theatre box office is open 10 am - 7.30 pm Monday - Saturday and is closed on Sundays. If you’re not in London, you can check TKTS online listings for discounted same-day tickets.
The production releases a handful of Bohemian Seats every Friday at 12pm for £29. The seats can be in various places throughout the auditorium, including the Can Can seats. You’ll need to be signed up to the email list and join the virtual queue before midday Friday to be in with a chance of grabbing some last-minute tickets for the following week. You can find out more information here.
Unsold tickets on the day of a performance could be discounted by the box office. At the time of writing Stalls Q27 for tonight's performance is £59, with the same seat for next Wednesday's performance priced at £85. That’s a saving of 30%!
It’s good to keep in mind that this isn’t always the case, especially during weekends and bank holidays. If you're thinking of visiting during one of these busy times, we recommend booking ahead to avoid any disappointment on the day.
4. Where Should I Sit at Moulin Rouge?

Insider Tip: Check SeatPlan’s Piccadilly Theatre seating plan when you book. Theatregoers have added their photos of the stage and ratings for seats across the auditorium to help you book.

- Stalls S2 (from £70.20) is towards the back of the bottom tier of the theatre. As the stage juts out, you feel very close to the action
- Grand Circle G9 (from £46.40) is on the top tier of the theatre, offering a great view of all the action on stage and around the auditorium
- Grand Circle A29 (from £70.20) is on the front row of the top tier of the theatre. It offers a great view of the stage as well as the action around the stage, too
5. How To Get Cheap Moulin Rouge Matinee Tickets
The show has two matinee performances per week on Thursdays and Saturdays, with both performances starting at 2.30pm.
We recommend booking tickets to a Thursday matinee, as these tickets can be cheaper than a Saturday afternoon show. At the time of writing, Stalls H11 for the matinee performance on Thursday 20 June is priced at £159. The same seat for the matinee just two days later on the 22 June is priced at £229. This is a huge saving of 44%!

9. About the Moulin Rouge Venue
Moulin Rouge is currently playing at the Piccadilly Theatre in London which is located only a short walk from Piccadilly Circus tube station and a 10-15 minute walk from Leicester Square tube station.
As the theatre is centrally located, there are a range of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area, from high-end restaurants such as Brasserie Zedel or fast food chains such as Five Guys - there’s something for everyone. If you’re hoping to grab a pre-theatre evening meal we recommend booking a table in advance to ensure you’re guaranteed a table as restaurants in the area can get busy during peak times.
The theatre is home to 4 bars which all serve alcoholic and soft drinks as well as sweet and savoury snacks before the show starts and during the interval. The theatre allows people to bring their own food and soft drinks into the theatre as long as it’s cold and in a plastic container.
Doors open 1 hour and 30 minutes before the performance starts. We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes before the starting time of the performance to give you plenty of time to get into the theatre, grab a drink or snack and get to your seat. The running time of the musical is 2 hours and 35 minutes with a 20-minute interval. This is good to bear in mind, especially when planning your journey home.
